Brief Conversation with Mom: Watching the Diving

Mom:  "Darn.  I was hoping that they could beat that team."

Me:  "Well, that dive was just a little off."

Mom:  "I know it.  I was just hoping.  Still, they got the bronze."

[five minute pause]

Me:  "You know, he's got a really nice package."

Mom:  "I was just thinking that."
